A few months ago, before things went a bit wobbly, I went to a Konica Minolta showroom to look at the new C14000 colour printer.
required speed?…. check
nice flat image?…… check
smooth even tints?….. check
inline quality controls to ensure that page 1000 looks the same as page 1 ?… check
In fact ‘all the usual stuff’ was ‘as expected’.
Long sheet click costs (700mm x 330mm) were not as expected, in fact my jaw-dropped…..for all the right reasons.
But even this, didn’t really excite me, until I got a closer look at the paper feed system.
Three drawers, each capable of holding over 1000 sheets of 900mm x 330mm sheets….now that got me going.
At a time when A3 landscape and 6 or 8 page A4 portrait work is in increasing demand, the ability to load many sheets makes for a very interesting story.
